The final conference of the Erasmus+ project “Micro-credentials for Higher Education Systems of Georgia and Armenia: South Caucasus Lighthouse Project (Micro-GEAR)” took place on 5 November 2026 at Georgian Technical University (GTU), bringing together representatives of educational institutions, government bodies, quality assurance agencies and international experts from Georgia, Armenia and across Europe.

The conference provided an important platform to present the project's achievements and discuss the progress made in integrating micro-credentials into higher and vocational education systems in Georgia and Armenia.

The programme covered key topics, including national legislative frameworks, the integration of micro-credentials into national qualifications frameworks, quality assurance, digital certification and the recognition of micro-credentials. International experts also shared European experiences and best practices, contributing to discussions on the future development of flexible and accessible learning opportunities.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of the first micro-credential graduates, who received their certificates, marking an important milestone in the project's implementation.

Two panel discussions brought together project consortium members to reflect on the current state of micro-credentials in Georgia and Armenia and examine the project's contribution to their development and recognition.

The conference concluded with a final discussion, reaffirming the importance of continued cooperation among educational institutions, policymakers and other stakeholders in advancing micro-credential systems across the South Caucasus.
