Micro-GEAR will support structural reforms in the higher education sector of Georgia and Armenia, with the aim of introducing and facilitating the broad proliferation of micro-credentials as a tool for improving relevance, quality and flexibility of higher education. The project aligns with the European Council's Recommendation on micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability. It aims to update National Qualifications Frameworks in two countries, establish consensus on micro-credentialing principles, promote educational activities for micro-credentials, and facilitate mutual recognition.

The Final Conference of the Micro-GEAR Project will take place on November 5, 2026 at Georgian Technical University.

The Erasmus+ National Office in Georgia is organizing a Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) on the implementation of micro-credentials in the Georgian higher education system, which will take place on October 12 from 11:00 to 18:00. The event will be held online via Google Meet.

The Micro-GEAR consortium held its board management meeting, bringing together project partners to review the implementation of micro-credential courses and discuss the final stages of the project focusing on the final conference, “Micro-credentialing in Higher and Vocational Education of Georgia and Armenia.”
